Bias and Opinion
“Money is the root of all evil”. That’s a start, but any situation starts with a “root” cause.
Opinion, bias, and fact, (Facts also fall into the categories of opinion and bias) make up our written history since history has been written, and is being written.
It is our way. We learn from others, form opinions and biases in a brain that varies greatly from person to person. These brains not only vary physically, but are varied mostly by what we learn from others.
While money may often motivate people to evil, depending on opinion and bias, even the evil person may not consider what they do as evil and to the contrary may consider what they do as justified and “good” based on “fact”.
The world has laws, lawyers, and politicians, (The so called shakers and movers) writing policy and law based on their own brains “facts”.
Public opinion, their peers, and their view of the world shape the world in which we live to a great extent. It would seem rightfully so. I’ve heard “A country gets the government they deserve”. While it seems a very general harsh statement to me, facts are often interwoven with opinion and bias.
How can there ever be a solution? Looking at what I have written here a solution seems impossible!
People constantly look for solutions at all level of civilization. Some seem to work better than others, if you base it on economies, crime statistics, and the general happiness of a given population.
Governing and religion play huge roles in this world and historically make and break their respective populations, as well as affecting world population.
In the past few hundred years, and even more since the computer age, world population is affected by individual populations more rapidly through communication than ever.
While past history and history in the making are not without flaw when written, a thorough examination of all world history with a mindfulness of opinion and bias should be a top priority in all educational systems. IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO LIMIT OPINION AND BIAS!
The truth will set you free, is obviously not an easy task and hopefully will continue to evolve. All people deserve the best education possible and our lawyers and politicians while generally educated to a level far above my own education, seem to me to be more immersed in problem solving from a “stamping out the current fire” level rather than from an educational level steeped in a vast pool of detailed knowledge of world history. (Better known as Wisdom)
While all I’ve written here contains limited knowledge, bias, and opinion, there just MAY be an iota of truth in it.
I consider myself “spiritual” and regard my religion as between me and my perception of a power in my circles most commonly known as God.
I strongly feel like we waste a huge amount of our lives “barking up the wrong tree”. I believe in people. I believe people as a whole want a perfect world. I believe many people feel a perfect world is not possible.
I believe the definition of “perfect” is in the mind of the beholder.
I believe technology, like most things have the potential for both good and evil.
Using our technology for vastly improved education of our planets people and a deep understanding of history, will be our quickest path to a better world.
Our quickest path to a worse world would be to ignore history and repeat it.
(In my mixed bag of opinion, bias, and fact)
