Regular practice, paying attention to what we are feeling, thinking, doing and why, I believe would benefit most everyone. The deeply part that you mention is so important. Jesus said “Forgive them Father for they know not what they do”.
If we would practice paying attention we could be ever more consistent at realizing love and joy and it would spread to others. If I could only see myself as others see me I would improve my behavior. The only way to see myself better is to truly look.
I’m not saying that I’m consistent or good at it, but I will say that I recognize it as you wrote and to recognize must happen first.
