Karma
Is Karma caused by and made up of ones ego?
It seems to me as if there is a universal consciousness that is shared by all of creation.
Superimposed on the universal consciousness there seems to be an individual consciousness that is constructed by an individual in the form of an ego.
The ego that is constructed is not without cause, and indeed is dependent upon the universal consciousness for its existence. It is not only an effect (or result) of universal consciousness. Ego is also the result of many other egos that have affected it by prior cause.
Analogy: A building may be constructed from a blueprint with many apparent flaws even though the materials with which it was built (think; atoms, molecules) are without flaw.
In the same way an ego is constructed out of a flawless nature (the universal consciousness) according to an individual blueprint (ego) that can render the building inadequate and in need of repair.
This individual blueprint can follow the original blueprint to the molecule in which case that individual would be said to be one (or in perfect harmony) with the universal consciousness. (Buddhahood) (Egoless state) (Equanimity)
The ego construction that veers (by self and by others) from the universal consciousness or “blueprint” creates a new set of blueprints or causes, which in turn have an effect. That effect may be immediate or delayed depending on the cause. Some causes of the ego have effects that carry far into future lives and affect many beings.
