My two cents on the Redskins controversy

We change the meaning of words from time to time, sometimes from a “bad” to a “good” meaning and visa versa.
We don’t all change in precise synchronization so some people stress out.
Change is the one inevitable and ironically one of the biggest stressors.
I like change to be reasonable but what I like won’t change, change.
I’m not saying roll over and play dead when change is not the change you want.
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
People have differences of opinion on what wisdom is also.
I could argue changing the words society uses doesn’t belong in politics. It may, but when our politicians fight over a football team name they are not prioritizing very well. Some feel they should take the lead in these issues.
There are plenty of issues they haven’t solved that are in desperate need of solving.
Ordinary citizens, contrary to what some politicians think, are capable of making decisions like changing the name of a football team by themselves. If people don’t want it they won’t support it.
I don’t want to insult anybody and it is not possible to please everyone.  I’d rather leave decisions like changing football team names or firing CEO’s of companies up to the people of our free enterprise system. When politicians manipulate free enterprise to play the smoke and mirrors game or to force an agenda it is no longer free.
