Time
There is no such thing as time unless it is compared to a reference.
There is no such thing as change unless it is compared to a reference in time.
We live approximately 35000 days (96 years) give or take a few days.
That’s 35000 risings and settings of the sun.
What is the importance of this?
It is to see if a reality can be discovered outside of the usual “everything changes” and the idea that our days are numbered.
It is possible to have an enhanced awareness of ones surroundings, but is even a greater awareness, even outside of ones surrounding possible?
Is an awareness of a “higher truth” or an omniscient way of seeing or of understanding possible?
If it is, is the higher truth or understanding of value?
It would seem yes, but first the higher truth must be known.
To know of a higher truth might be wanted, but more is needed than knowing if one is to obtain the full benefit such as living the reality outwardly instead of only storing it mentally.
There are many so-called higher truths out there, many in the form of a religion. It seems to me that many of the religions hit the mark squarely by offering opportunities to people for spiritual growth or meaning. The meaning or value is what people want.
So, is there an ultimate higher truth, or is higher truth defined by individuals?
Seemingly, people like the idea of an ultimate higher truth that not only can they claim for their own, but also claim (to the exclusion of others) that theirs is the one or ultimate truth.
I think in a limited world or universe that an ultimate truth or reality would indeed exist. In the idea of an infinite universe however it would seem that there are infinite possibilities and truths allowing that these truths must be user defined, even just like it is now. Each religion or spiritual truth seems to enjoy a certain amount of success with the individuals who are involved.
We have these religions and spiritual practices and they are enjoyed by a variety of people so what is wrong?
Wrong enjoys an entire range of possibilities in the same way that truth seems to.
Different localities have wrongs based on written law or morals or even by word of mouth.
Large percentages of the world population do seem to agree on certain wrongs for the most part, or do they?
Some believe in war, others do not. Some believe in the death penalty, others do not.
So where is the common ground?
Common ground is found not by accident or even necessarily by specific commonalities.
Common ground sometimes can only be found by seeking common ground. It may be a stretch to find commonalities with some people. Often, if a law or religion is in place than a stretch isn’t desired or commonly thought to be needed.
Seeking or reaching out, even outside of established religions is a way we can grow and achieve harmony among religions.
Exploring inclusive rather than exclusive laws provide a way to increase tolerance between people of different localities and countries.
Higher truth may not be truly higher but instead an active seeking or giving common ground where it is not commonly found.
So what does this have to do with time, change, or the idea that our days are numbered?
If we want a way (any way) than we will seek a way. We seek these ways in an infinite universe that we break into digestible chunks that we call change, time, and life span.
It says in the bible in the book of Matthew: “Seek and ye shall find”.
It may not have been used in this context but the sentence seems to fit the idea of reaching out and finding common ground.
Seeking and finding instead of a beginning and end may instead be a continuous loop i.e. seeking, finding, seeking, finding, seeking, finding etc.
Instead of finding a static truth, it may be that the loop of seeking and finding is the truth.
