Why are we here?

It seems to me that we chose to be here in this life for some purpose. I don’t have to know that purpose. It is probably better that I don’t.

The way to accomplish that purpose without knowing is to live each moment not knowing, and not worrying that you don’t know, but instead embracing and loving that you don’t know. In this way we will learn whatever it is we are supposed to learn. Shunru Suzuki said something like “in the mind of the beginner there are many possibilities, but in the mind of the expert there are few”. If we are like a baby i.e. like a sponge, then our mind and body can learn. If we are convinced that “this is it”, or “things are this way”, or “everything ought to be just so”, then our possibilities will be very limited.
