Evolution
I believe that life is ever evolving, always adapting.
It may not be noticeable in a few lifetimes but seems to be how we got where we are.
If changes take place more rapidly than a species adapts than it becomes extinct.
At first It seems as if humans have adapted and evolved in the past 40,000 years more than other life on earth.
We like to think that we at least are the most intelligent species.
If we did or did not evolve from this planet we must have evolved over millions of years from many other species.
There are many factors that can force a species to adapt quickly, evolve or become extinct.
Some include, disease, famine, climate change, planetary shift, earthly, stellar, interplanetary forces etc.
Human beings have apparently been willing to destroy each other since their beginning and now are capable of weapons of mass destruction.
There are people in the world looking for external events to insure our future.
There are also people looking for internal events that will resolve our issues and insure our future.
All events affect us both internally and externally and cause an adaptive reaction.
Humans have evolved to the point that they can reason and predict events and develop strategies to adapt quickly to a variety of change types.
The ability to lie or deceive is one of the more ancient strategies devised to adapt quickly to imminent change brought about by other humans/animals.
Interestingly, though lies and deception are prevalent and used regularly in modern society for arguably both good and evil they may be in danger of becoming extinct.
Either that or we are.
I’m hoping that the human brain will evolve to the point where deception is no longer desirable or necessary and maybe even impossible.
If awareness is to the point of recognizing deception on a constant basis than lying may no longer be possible. It may be brought on by a gradual evolutionary change for survival of the species, or it may be brought on more quickly by catastrophic events or even simply physical electrochemical changes to the human brain brought about by internal and external causes.
