Living and Dying
When born it is not about us that we worry.
Our parents they want to have us in a hurry.
It seems that from then on they’ll always be there.
We take them for granted we get in their hair.
Then one day we realize there’s more here in play.
Than playing and fighting and working each day.
We hope those we love live a very long life.
For those we’ve not known we feel little strife.
It would be too much to feel all of their pain.
For all that have passed, endless grief is in vain.
Compassion not sorrow we need to see clear.
More kindness and love is what’s needed here.
Our final good bye’s less for them more for us.
It’s why we must say that in God we do trust.
