The list could probably go on endlessly.
The world spends much time, energy, and resources on some of these fears.
It has always proven profitable to promote fear and create real fears.
Even if one claims to have no fear, it doesn’t necessarily prevent these things from happening.
I’m not sure if the list has grown longer with the world being older but certainly fears change with the times.
I read news stories every day, often just headlines. I can see a world that is barraged by the media with fear, I expect for profit and also genuine concern.
It’s apparent that many people are overwhelmed by their fears.
People spend a lot of time, energy, and resources trying to cope with their own fears.
Many people cope very successfully with fear.
Many people do not.
One way we cope is by paying money for things so we feel more secure.
Some people read less bad news or watch less television, or listen to less radio.
I think many of us get a little numb to it all and just don’t have the time or energy to worry about it too much.
We also try to distract ourselves in a myriad of ways.
As Franklin D. Roosevelt said in his inaugural speech: “So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”
It is crystal clear that many people today continue to promote the very same —“nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”
My thought is, if you are in fear reach out to someone for help. Also reach out to people in general.
Fear divides and conquers. People also unite to spread fear but it is only meant to divide and conquer.
People need to unite against fear and I have faith that they will, but probably not until things get unbearably uncomfortable for them.
I think I am being realistic rather than pessimistic.
Courageous honest leadership is what is needed.
