First do no harm

Is there a certain way that we should live our everyday lives? Where do we get these morals from? People can’t even agree on thou shall not kill. Violence spreads like an infection. So does goodwill. How do we spread it? Interestingly, or sadly maybe, people have been addressing these very issues for thousands of years and it seems at first look things haven’t changed much; or have they?
It may take a while to fix, but fix it we must, though it may take even thousands of more years. Goodwill has been spread, is being spread, and will continue to spread, and ironically the word goodwill says it all. We need the will to do good, or as may be stated in the Hippocratic oath; at least do no harm.
