“People start pollution. People can stop it.” *

Can people save the world?
Many have said no and were very precise as to why.
Many have said yes with equal precision.
I am going to think about it here out-loud.

Maybe I should first ask, can people destroy the world?
Certainly, people can destroy the world as we know it.
Nature surely can destroy it also.
Here I am talking about whether people can destroy or save it.

To me, it is easy to see ways that people are destroying our world, so easy that I won’t even attempt to name any of them. My point is, if people can destroy the world then people can save it. (sort of like the native american in the canoe, in the 70’s anti-pollution commercial filmed in NY harbor) *

My real point is, first, people need the attitude that it is possible to save the world from destruction from people, by people.
Once this positive attitude is realized, only then is it possible to develop a fitting plan to save it.
Many, many people already have the necessary attitude.
Many do not, so I believe the point is worth pondering.

I absolutely believe that people can and do develop ideas that are beneficial to the world. I believe that if enough people “try”, people will indeed prevail. I also believe that if enough people do not try, or they give up, we will fail.
It is easy to see by any casual observer that there is hunger, poverty, and violence in almost every part of the world. People develop many strategies to deal with these issues. They agree and also disagree on the best ways to fix these problems. Often they fail miserably. This is not the point! The entire point is to not give up! I’ve said it before in many ways. DO NOT GIVE UP!
