Sicker than a Dog

Whoever coined the term “I’m sicker than a dog”.
Either never owned one or their head was in a fog.
I’ve owned a lot of dogs and even when they’re sick.
If they complain at all, it’s a very little bit.
Contrast that with humans, they let you know for sure.
If they stub their little toe, they’re screaming for a cure.
I managed a bad cold right now, I’m miserable indeed.
My throat is sore, lungs congested, I can hardly breathe.
I’ll fuss and I’ll complain, than fall on back to sleep.
Dogs are tough, when they feel bad, you hardly hear a peep.
