Maybe one person’s life

My guardian angel has the name of Serendipity.
I don’t know if my angel even is a he or she.
I am glad I have an angel watching over me.

You may not think an angel’s really watching over you.
I don’t know how it works but I do know this is true.
That angels are for real and there are more than just a few.

Our world is full of problems, how could I say all this?
Disease and war and accidents, and many more I missed.
Our troubles and our sorrow can’t be easily dismissed.

It may not be our fault but in these things we surely bear.
What we say and do responsibility we share.
You may not think it helps but it can’t hurt to say a prayer.

I’ve had friends and family die, and my share of misfortune.
Maybe not as much as you, I don’t deal out the portion.
I am sorry for what may seem a horrible distortion.

I can’t fix one little hurt, I really do know nothing.
I pray, I hope, and hopefully will not give up on touching.
Maybe one person’s life.
